3Suspect Rockland Trust 8.30.2021

On August 30, 2021 at approximately 11:04 A.M., the Braintree Police Department received a 911 call reporting a robbery at the Rockland Trust Bank, 405 Washington Street. The suspect entered the bank and presented a note to the teller.  No weapon was shown and he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of United States currency.

Multiple Braintree Police patrol units were on-scene within seconds. A perimeter was set and a K9 track was initiated with the help of a Quincy Police K9 unit. They were assisted by numerous Braintree Police detectives, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and our partners at the Bank Robbery Task Force. The subsequent search continued for over an hour before it was believed that the suspect was no longer in the area and efforts were suspended.

The Braintree Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify the suspect shown in the image attached in connection with today’s incident. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’10” and weighing 170 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a white ball cap, surgical mask, blue shirt and dark pants.
