PRESS RELEASE: Update - Armed Robbery of CVS at 884 Washington St
On Thursday, January 25, 2024, at about 2:30 pm, the CVS pharmacy at 884 Washington Street was robbed by a person claiming to have a firearm. Multiple Braintree Police units converged onto the scene along with a K9 Unit. While
searching the area and tracking with a police dog, patrol officers and detectives made note of any cameras along the route where the suspect fled. After two hours of extensive searching, it was determined that the suspect was no longer in the area and the police discontinued their search. However, due to the diligence
of the Braintree detectives and officers, they were able to source many images of the suspect from various cameras in and around the neighborhood. Those photos were shared with other police departments.
A sharp-eyed police officer with the Brockton Police Department recognized the suspect. Brockton P.D. was able to locate this person, who they believe is responsible for up to four armed robberies in their city. Braintree Detectives travelled to Brockton to interview the suspect. They were able to compile enough
evidence to charge this individual for the Braintree CVS robbery.
The Braintree Police would again like to thank all the residents and businesses that assisted during this investigation. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the City of Brockton Police Department for their diligence in putting this together.
The suspect will be arraigned in Brockton District Court this morning on the crimes in their city and Braintree will be seeking a warrant for his arrest at Quincy District Court. This person will not be publicly identified until he is arraigned.
